Hurricane Rita Hurricane Rita displayed a number of anomalous signatures that were detected by a number of different sensors. Below is a water vapor satellite image of the hurricane. Rita is over land at this point. Inland a ways you can see a line (red arrows) that seems to be cutting through the storm southwest to east. This is a GOES 12 Water Vapor image of Rita at 2315 UTC or 7:15 p.m. Eastern time on September 24 2005.
This is a GOES 12 Infrared image of Rita taken at the same time. Both modes, water vapor and infrared show a footprint but with just this to go on it could be anything. Next is a loop from MIMIC (Morphed Integrated Microwave Imagery at CIMSS). The MIMIC sensors are sensitive in the 85 and 89 GHz range of the EM spectrum. The imagery was taken from the CIMSS web site. The JAVA link below is the same as the first link next to it, except that it offers more control over the animation speed. It is recommended only for computers with 1GB of memory and a fast internet connection. The anomaly starts at 1915 UTC. MIMIC Loop of Rita Sep 24-25 2005 1200-0000 UTC / Java MIMIC Loop of Rita Sep 24-25 2005 1200-0000 UTC MIMIC image of Rita Sep 24 2005 2330 UTC. What is that? That is a very good question or better yet who did that? It is a directed (man made) burst of microwave energy that continues for hours there is no disputing that. This is why it shows up bright as day on the MIMIC sensors yet only its side effects are evident on the water vapor and infrared imagery. It is also clear what the effect of this microwave signature on the storm is as well. One can see in the MIMIC loop how the rotation of the storm is directly effected by this anomaly, it kills it! Here is the next MIMIC loop. MIMIC Loop of Rita Sep 25 2005 0000-0745 / Java MIMIC Loop of Rita Sep 25 2005 0000-0745 MIMIC image of Rita Sep 25 2005 0245 UTC. High energy microwaves do the same thing our microwave ovens do, they heat things up. I don't claim to know the exact dynamics of this technology but in layman terms that's what occurred in these images, the surrounding atmosphere heated up and directly affected Rita. Think of the possibilities and implications of this technology, if this arch of microwave energy can stop the rotation of this hurricane it could have done so over the ocean. Rita would have died in the open sea not affecting anyone except maybe some shipping. So why was this not done?
